Air Arabia's Sharjah flight grounded after hit by bird while landing

Coimbatore - Air Arabia's Sharjah flight was grounded after it was hit by bird while landing at Coimbatore airport at 4am today.

The city-bound Air Arabia flight from Sharjah with 100 passengers on board was grounded at the Coimbatore International Airport on Monday after it was hit by a bird while landing, police said.
The pilot managed to land the plane safely at around 4 am, they said.
Since the damage was serious in nature, the aircraft was grounded. Some 160 passengers waiting to depart for Sharjah in return flight, were accommodated in a few hotels, they said.
The flight would return to Sharjah after the necessary repairs, police said.
Air Arabia Spokesperson said: "Air Arabia flight G9414 bound for Sharjah from Coimbatore on October 12, 2015 was re-scheduled due to a bird hit while the aircraft was landing at Coimbatore International Airport. The flight will take off as soon as necessary checks are completed. Passengers were offered hotel stay and all necessary assistance. We regret any inconvenience caused. The safety of our passengers and crew remains Air Arabia's highest priority".
