Ajman reopened its fresh food markets, livestock market and the central slaughterhouse on Tuesday to meet residents' demand for the holy month of Ramadan.
The resumption of the stalls' operations comes with the strict implementation of Covid-19 precautions, authorities said.
Khalid Al Housani, director of health and environment department at Ajman Municipality, said that ahead of the reopening, the civic body ensured that necessary measures are in place to combat the spread of the virus and protect public health.
Inspection teams have started going around to monitor compliance with safety guidelines. Market-goers are also urged to cooperate with authorities and abide by the policies.
Market operations have been scheduled in line with the national sterilisation programme. Here's a guide to the opening hours:
Fruit and vegetable market
. Morning opening: 6am to 12pm
. Closed for sterilisation from 12pm
. Afternoon opening: 2pm to 7pm
. Sterilisation: 7pm to 8pm

Fish market
. Bidding for merchants and companies: 6am to 8am
. Opening for shoppers: 8am to 12pm
. Closed for sterilisation: 12pm to 3pm
. Auction: 4pm to 6pm
. Opening for shoppers: 4pm to 7pm
. Sterilisation: 7pm to 8pm

Meat market
Open to the public: 6am to 1am
