The Ajman Transport Authority (ATA) has launched a new public bus route as part of its 2021 expansion plans.
A top official with the authority said the new route starts from Al Musalla bus station, passing through Nuaimiya until Sheikh Ammar Street.
Omar bin Omair Al Muhairi, Director-General of the ATA, said the service will be available every half an hour, from 6.30am till 10.30pm. The route has 11 bus stops.
“The move is to meet the growing demand for public bus services and to strengthen the bus route network within the emirate,” he said, adding that improving public transport network will reduce traffic congestion pollution in the emirate.
The ATA also launched smart applications and online services in four languages — Arabic, English, Chinese and Urdu to allow the commuters to book bus trips.
The newly-launched fleet of 10 buses is equipped with mobile phone chargers, Wi-Fi, internal display screens.
Al Muhairi said the authority has achieved 95 per cent customer satisfaction due to the new digital services that had transformed and streamlined riders' journeys.
He added that the public can enquire about trip times via WhatsApp number 600599997, through authority’s social media channels, website ta.gov.ae or through the electronic application "Masar".
