The emirate's first leisure and entertainment hub called Ajman Square is set to open in the first quarter of 2019, the Ajman Municipality has announced.
It will be lined with cafés and restaurants and will also have a children's play area, courts for sports activities, and a walking path. Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, director-general of the Ajman Municipality, said the project is a step towards transforming the emirate into a tourist hotspot.
"The Ajman Square is the first project of its kind that the municipality has planned and implemented, following the murals and sculptures project," Al Nuaimi said.
All of the square's elements - from the design of the walking path to the selection of the restaurants - were carefully planned and chosen to offer the "perfect" recreational space for families and visitors.
