Dubai – The Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation (ESGCF), for the fifth year in a row, has contributed Dh 1million to the low-income families committee (LIFC) in Umm Al Quwain for the benefit of the poor in the emirate.
The generous annual contribution followed a charity agreement concluded between Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, managing director - ESGCF, and Ali Hassan Al Assi, chairman – LIFC, at the foundation’s head office in Dubai in the presence of Mohammed Farooq, executive director of the foundation.
“The accord sealed for the fifth straight year reflects the foundation’s trust in and satisfaction with the outstanding performance of the low-income families committee run by Dar Al Ber Society which spares no effort to help the poor and needy,” she said.
The contribution is part of the foundation’s strategy whereby donation is provided to charity associations in the country, Al Gurg added. “This is added to the direct support rendered to 5,000 families registered with the foundation.”
Al Assi said the kind gesture is very helpful to the poor in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain. “The list of beneficiaries include special needs people, orphans, let alone education & medical assistance, house maintenance, pending rents & utility bills, Ramadan foodstuff packages, and school bags & stationery.”
Noting, he said the committee is stringently observing transparency and accountability. “We always submit lists of the eligible beneficiaries along with the type & amount of support to philanthropists to put them in the picture.”
The Committee is also concerned with future philanthropic projects to meet the needs of the society, Al Assi underlined. “The committee has covered a large segment of the low-income families and fulfilled their urgent needs in several emirates.”
