His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the renaming of Al Sufouh Street after His Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on the occasion of the 86th Saudi National Day.

In a tweet, Shaikh Mohammed said the renaming was in recognition of King Salman and his achievements in the region and the wider Muslim world.

The newly renamed street, which stretches from Dubai Marina to Madinat Jumeirah and Mina Al Salaam hotel, passing the Palm Jumeirah, is used by the Dubai Tram.

On Wednesday, it was decorated with pictures of flags and leaders of the two countries, reflecting their strong fraternal relations, according to a tweet from Dubai Media office.
