UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash on Sunday ridiculed Qatar's attempt to take the Gulf crisis to the Western media.
"To go to the Western media and attack Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates at this point is desperate," Dr Gargash wrote on his Twitter account. "Qatar should accept its isolation without snivelling and do what it must," he added.
Talking to the American television network CBS's 60 Minutes news programme, the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said US President Donald Trump has offered to host a meeting to end the crisis between the American allies.
However, there's been no response from the boycotting nations, he said.
Sheikh Tamim acknowledged alleged military threats. "I'm fearful that if anything happens, if any military act happens, this region will be in chaos," he said.
Dr Gargash responded on Twitter. "The lack of concern by the international community about the Qatar crisis worries him much." The sovereignty issue he has been hyping is like a sunken ship, he added.
Sheikh Tamim "is lost between being an obstinate leader and defender of betrayal and extremism", he said.
