An Arab resident has died in a horrific car collision on UAE's roads.
The 32-year-old succumbed to fatal injuries he received after a head-on collision on Ras Al Khaimah's Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed road this evening.
Identified as H.B.A., he suddenly veered off the road, and collided head-on with another car coming from the opposite direction.
Brigadier Dr Mohammed Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of the Central Operations room - RAK Police, said two Asian residents - in the other car - had sustained moderate to serious injuries in the accident.
The Central Operations Room was alerted of the mishap at 7.10pm, following which traffic patrols, ambulances, and rescue teams rushed to the scene of the accident.
Initial investigation and enactment of the accident puts the blame on the Arab driver, who was speeding before he lost control over the steering wheel.
The bonnet, of the Arab man's car, was totally damaged and caught fire, he added.
"The driver died on the spot before the rescue teams arrived at the scene."
The two Asian residents, who received moderate to serious injuries in the accident, were rushed to the intensive care unit of the Saqr Hospital for treatment and medical care.
"All drivers are urged to be cautious on the road, and strictly observe traffic regulations, particularly speed limits, for their safety."
RAK witnessed another terrible road accident on Tuesday when two Asian residents were killed and three others were seriously injured after their car rammed into a lamp post at the Deheesa area.
"The gruesome accident was also blamed on speeding and ignoring traffic rules and regulations," Al Humaidi said, advising motorists to avoid driving if they are drowsy.
