Asian man killed, five seriously injured in RAK road collision

Ras Al Khaimah - The driver of the car bled excessively and received gruesome injuries and burns and died on the spot.

An Asian man succumbed to fatal injuries he received in a gruesome two-car collision on the Rams – Shamal road (New ring road) to the north of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. 
Three Asian residents and two young Emirati women sustained moderate to serious injuries in the tragic accident, according to Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations room, RAK police.
The central operations room of the RAK Police, having been alerted of the collision, dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in a record time.
“The head-on collision, in which a car was totally damaged and the other was entirely gutted in fire, took place on a road which has not been official opened for traffic yet.”
Four Asian men were gravely injured in the car gutted in fire, he added. “The driver of this car, who bled excessively and received gruesome injuries and burns, could not make it, and died on the spot.”
The trio, and the two Emirati young women who were in the other car, were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care, Brig. Humaidi stated.
“All drivers are urged never to use any unofficially opened road as they are still under construction and had no road signs or marks which are necessary for safe traffic flow.”
Blaming speed and inattentive driving on the tragic accident, he said all motorists need to observe traffic rules and regulations for road users’ safety and theirs. “Speeding has been blamed for most of the accidents recently reported.”
