Athena Education Investments, which owns nine schools across Dubai and Sharjah, is fully prepared for the reopening of its schools in September.
Athena schools are undergoing extensive deep cleaning to make school transportation and classrooms safe, implementing measures that meet the highest standards of sanitisation and protection.
“A safe environment enables children to focus on learning and achieve well, and supports well-being,” said Jan Horn, Director of HR and operations at Athena. “Our preparations for reopening schools are already well underway. We have been meticulously reviewing practices across all our schools to ensure we maintain the highest safety standards.”
Each school principal, working closely with the Athena board, parents and government authorities, has created detailed plans for children to return to classrooms in September, ensuring strict safety measures are adhered to.
Adopting a "Day one, minute one" approach, the plans cover all aspects of provision from transport and canteens to lesson planning and IT systems. Athena’s utmost priority is safety and well-being of all members of the school community. Alongside this, teachers are ready to deliver the highest quality learning experiences both within school and online, following stringent guidelines for safety.
During the pandemic, every Athena school sought the views of the parents, moving swiftly to address any concerns. The schools will continue to ensure that all students have opportunities to achieve at the highest level. The curriculum has been adapted to ensure there are no gaps in learning and to promote safe practices which keep students safe while learning and in the community.
Each Athena school has focused, and will continue to focus, on ensuring that all students keep up with their learning. This has included arranging for support and extra sessions for our most vulnerable learners and the provision of extra challenge so that all can achieve at the highest level whilst adhering to stringent safety and hygiene protocols.
