Body of Indian Who Drowned Repatriated

DUBAI - The body of Nijo Baby who drowned in the sea near Al Mamzar Park on Friday was repatriated to his home country of India on Sunday.

The Dubai Police said the 30-year-old Indian who worked for Al Watania Rent A Car had gone to the park with his family members and a friend, to enjoy the Eid holidays.

His friend told the police that Nijo did not know swimming but decided to get into the water and tried to swim. Soon, other swimmers spotted him struggling in the huge waves and informed the lifeguard who rushed to him and lifted him from the waves.

The guard administered first aid and took Nijo to the police ambulance but he died before reaching the hospital.

The body was handed over to his family on Sunday after completing the legal and administrative procedures.

Body Found in Desert

Sharjah - The Sharjah police has found the decomposed body of an unidentified person in the desert area of Al Sajja near the eighth intersection on the Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road.

The body has been taken to Forensic Laboratory for more investigation, police source said.

The source said the police had started intensified investigation to identity the man and collect evidences to ascertain the rcause of his death. He said the forensic report will be released soon and the case will be referred to the CID .
