A total of 14 commercial buildings will be constructed in Malaiha area for the benefit of widows, divorcees and those with low income.
The buildings will be constructed at a cost of Dh12 million by the Sharjah Public Works Department (SPWD) under the instructions of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The buildings will have two storeys and will include residential apartments and commercial outlets. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Ali Al Suwaidi, director-general of SPWD said work on these building will start immediately and will be completed by the last quarter of this year.
Al Suwaidi said Shaikh Sultan decided to launch this project after his recent visit to Malaiha area.
"The project also will help develop the area and improve the income of the people there," he said.
