OM Education started operations in Ahmadabad, Gujarat (India) in 2007. Starting with admissions in streams like engineering, business administration, computer application and nursing courses, it added medical field to its list, as many parents were not aware of various colleges in different Indian states.
"We collected information about the admission process, fees structure and other facilities provided in all colleges by personally visiting each institution in India and Nepal. Owing to our extensive network, we were able to provide proper guidance to parents about different universities across India, including courses and related entrance examinations," Yesha Govindia, Senior Education Consultant, OM Education, told Khaleej Times.
OM Education has detailed information regarding 200 universities and over 350 colleges. "We have made our list of the best colleges from India, Nepal and South America. More than 250 students from OM Education have graduated from the list of colleges (by 2014). More than 350 of our students are currently enrolled in some of the finest colleges in India and abroad," she noted.
Graduation/post-graduation (medical, dental and engineering streams) in colleges and universities in states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan form core offerings at OM Education. "We also guide students and parents with destinations like Nepal and South America, where medical education has stepped into limelight in the last three to four years. We regularly communicate through e-mails and messages with those who avail our services," Govindia added.
OM Education provides counselling for both parents and students. In agreement that parents are mostly concerned about college location, fees structure and accommodation facilities provided, she said: "Not every parent can afford expenses of the best colleges. Hence, we provide them with other options like different locations, where the same course is offered but with the less fees and admission charges. At times, students are confused when it comes to career selection. We assist by ascertaining their interests in selected subjects. Depending on their higher secondary subjects, we offer different courses as a selection. If the students or parents agree with a particular course, we suggest the best colleges for the selected course as well as the necessary procedures for college admission."
OM Education guarantees admissions depending on rules and regulations of the universities/colleges in India. "Different universities/colleges have different quotas like management/NRI or state quota. Entrance examinations are not compulsory everywhere, but wherever needed, students have to appear and clear the examination to secure his/her place in the institution," she concluded.
