Students across the UAE who attempted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board Grade 12 exams in March/April, have reported a 100 per cent pass result.

Yet again, girl students have outperformed boys to come on top in the science, humanities and commerce streams. Official sources from the CBSE revealed that a total of 8,000 students from across 31 schools appeared for the exams in the UAE. The results were announced on Saturday, May 21.


Top performing students in all the three streams are from- The Indian High School, Dubai, Delhi Private School, Dubai, Our Own English High School, Dubai and Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Indian High School, Abu Dhabi. Toppers in the Science stream are- Pankti Rajesh Shah from the Indian High School (IHS) Dubai. She secured a whooping 490/500 marks and has scored 98 per cent.

However, the top student in the commerce stream is Rutvi Bhavin Mithani, from Our Own English High School, with 96.6 per cent. She was followed by Ameera Zaheer from Indian High School who scored a 97.2 per cent in the Humanities Stream.

Ashok Kumar, CEO of IHS said: "It is the combined effort of our students and parents and the tireless efforts of our teachers that have made this possible."

Despite the Mathematics paper being really difficult, many students have done exceedingly well as well. Pankti has scored 98 marks out of 100 in Mathematics. Asma Gilani, Principal of Our Own English High School Sharjah said: "Our students have exceeded our expectations. Despite the papers being really difficult, they have performed excellently well and I am really proud of what they have achieved."

Some of the top performers in Science stream are- Pankti Rajesh Shah, The Indian High School, Dubai with 98 per cent, Harsh Goel, Delhi Private School, Dubai with 97.8 per cent, and Rushali Grandhie Siva Prasad Rao, Abu Dhabi Indian High School Abu Dhabi - 97.6 per cent.

Top performers in Commerce are- Rutvi Bhavin Mithani, Our Own English High School with 96.8 per cent.

GEMS STUDENTS EXCEL IN CBSE EXAMINATIONS

Students from GEMS CBSE curriculum schools in the UAE have performed brilliantly in the 2015 - 2016 Board exams raising the bar for academic excellence across schools.

  • GEMS CBSE schools have upheld their impressive track record with an outstanding 99.9% pass rate in the board exams. Of the 1504 students who appeared for the exam, 19.75 % scored above 90%. 14.16% of the students scored between 85 and 90% and 97.34% of students got above 60%.
  • Overall results: First place - Sanjana Ganesh of Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) topped the Science stream with 97%; Second place - Rutvi from Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls), Suryatej Reddy Vyalla and Nalla Venkat Siddarth Reddy from Our Own English High School -Sharjah Boys Branch with 96.6% and Pratyush Kandimalla from Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Boys) along with Keerthana Rajeev and Pooja Bijukumar from Our Own English High School Sharjah secured third place with 96.4%
  • Science: First place - Sanjana Ganesh, Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) 97%; Second place - Suryatej Reddy Vyalla and Nalla Venkat Siddarth Reddy , Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Boys), 96.6%; Third place - Keerthana Rajeev and Pooja Bijukumar, Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) 96.4%
  • Commerce: First place - Rutvi, Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) 96.6%; Second place - Keerthana Rajeev ,Our Own English High School - Sharjah with 96.4%; Third place - Nileena Girish, Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) ith 95.8%
  • Humanities: First place - Tajun Rashasha from GEMS Our Own English High School - Dubai and Rahumath Afsana from Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) - 95.8%; Second place - Abisah David from GEMS Our Own English High School - Dubai , 95.4 %; Third place - Alveera Sheikh and Naveena Shruthi Kandaraj from Our Own English High School - Sharjah (Girls) with 95.2%
