Climate minister inspects dams

Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, made field visits to the Central Region and Eastern Region to inspect 24 water storage dams and reservoirs filled with around three million cubic metres of water after two days of heavy torrents of rainfall in the UAE.
Accompanied by a number of senior officials from his ministry, Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi stopped at several places including Wadi Swhawkah dam, Al Mane'ie and Al Qoor water reservoirs in Ras Al Khaimah, and Wadi Al Helo and Ghail Kalba reservoirs in Sharjah.
He opened a water reservoir in Sakamkam area, Fujairah.
He also inspected the construction sites of three new dams planned as part of the initiatives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
