A cook faced a molestation charge in the Court of First Instance for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old student.
According to prosecution records, the incident allegedly took place on May 25 in Al Jaffliah. The 30-year-old cook, from Myanmar, allegedly groped the boy and touched him inappropriately.
The student, an Emirati, said in the investigation that he was heading for work-outs, in the football playground near his house, when the accused stopped him.
"It was around 5.30pm. He told me he would show me better kind of exercises. And then he led to me to a building and told me to go inside with him."
At that moment, the boy added, the man touched him inappropriately and groped his chest.
"He said I have a beautiful athletic body. When I walked away and told him I am going for the exercises he said he would follow to watch me," the student said.
The accused walked with the teen in a side road and then again touched him in an inappropriate way and kissed his hand. He allegedly told the boy he would let him have sex with him. The student then thought about reporting him to the police and he asked for his mobile number.
The boy's mother, a 40-year-old housewife, confirmed that her son told her that a man sexually harassed him. She told him to inform the police
A policeman said they dropped the student at the venue where they had fixed for the boy to meet the cook. "There, we saw the accused walking with the student to a school bus parking and holding his hand. As they were sort of far from us, we feared for the boy so we ran towards them and caught the cook".
The cop quoted the accused as denying having molested the kid and claimed he was just his friend. He was taken to the Bur Dubai police station. According to the forensic report, the accused has a sexually-transmitted disease. A verdict is expected on August 12.
