Every person coming to the UAE needs to be under home quarantine for 14 days, the UAE Attorney General has said.
Hamad Al Shamsi said that anyone violating the directive would be penalised.
The UAE had also suspended all entry visas to foreigners from March 17. The only exceptions as announced earlier were diplomatic passport holders and those eligible for visa on arrival.
In a bid to avoid quarantine, several hundred UAE residents and visitors rushed to catch flights back home on Tuesday, March 17. Passengers said they faced thorough checking at airports in India.
