Dubai student Abarna Sai had observed how hard the police work to keep the community safe in the time of Covid-19. So, she decided to personally thank them by giving them flowers.
Sai, a student of Indian High School, called up the Dubai Police's Transport and Rescue Department just so she could hand them her simple gift. "I just wanted to distribute these roses as a tribute to Dubai Police for what they have done in protecting the society from the Covid-19 pandemic, and I am very happy to be with them today," she said, as she was honoured by the police for the heartwarming gesture.
Her parents also expressed their thanks to the Dubai Police General Command for allowing their daughter to hand out the roses to the heroes of the General Administration of Transport and Rescue.
When Sai came to the office with bouquets of flowers, "she expressed her sincerest gratitude for the efforts that the police exerted in enforcing the law during the National Sterilisation Programme", said Brig Dr Mohammad Nasser Al Razooqi, director of the Transport and Rescue Department.
Brig Al Razooqi said such an initiative from a young student is a testament to the strong relationship that the Dubai Police have established with the community. Thanks to constant communication through various channels, residents and officers have now become 'one team' in striving to achieve safety, in line with the principle that 'everyone is responsible'.
"Our great cooperation with members of the society has contributed to making Dubai one of the top world safest cities," Brig Al Razooqi said.
