As many as 72 patrols have been deployed by the Ras Al Khaimah Police across the emirate as part of the ongoing efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, general commander of the RAK Police, said the move is in line with the Ministry of Interior commitment to ensure public health and well-being.
"The patrols not only give updates and guidelines to the public, but also fight rumours and dispel misinformation."
The public is urged to stay home and strictly follow the directives of the government, he added.
"Avoid any kind of gathering and remain home unless there is an urgent need to bring food or medicine from outside."
All precautionary measures and hygiene must be observed to avoid any contraction of the deadly virus during any such necessary errands, he underlined.
The tips and advice given to the public are in several languages, including Arabic, English and Urdu, he pointed out.
