The Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday announced 783 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus. 631 cases of recovery and two deaths were also announced.
The UAE has been seeing a steady rise in daily recoveries, with today's 631 being the highest in a single day.
As many as 32,000 new Covid-19 tests have also been carried out, the ministry added.
With this, total number of cases in the country stands at 19,661, total recoveries are at 6,012, while total deaths stand at 203.
The government has been repeatedly reminding residents to adhere to preventative measures, warning that some families continue to hold gatherings and distribute food to neighbours, thereby causing the virus to spread.
Meanwhile, the UAE government has been meeting remotely under the banner "Preparations for the Post-Covid-19 Period" to discuss the country's strategy after Covid-19, reinforce the readiness of federal and local sectors, and develop efficient tools and mechanisms to handle the issues caused by the pandemic, such as the resulting economic, social and developmental effects and challenges.
The UAE has also underlined its commitment to combating the coronavirus pandemic on the global stage.
In a message to the United Nations Secretariat, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stated: "The UAE is conscious that the Covid-19 pandemic represents more than a public health emergency and is well aware of the significant and unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, which can only be overcome through shared determination and global cooperation."
"We also understand the critical importance of protecting the human rights of all people in the UAE, irrespective of citizenship or status. Accordingly, consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals principle of 'leave no one behind,' the UAE government has adopted a multifaceted response to the Covid-19 pandemic, grounded in the principles of public trust, transparency, and the provision of testing and treatment for all.'' He said the UAE was committed to applying the guidance issued by the UN on combating Covid-19, as well as to sharing with international organisations the UAE's approach in order to contribute to the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in combating the pandemic.
