The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday reported 532 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 993 recoveries.
Two new deaths were also reported.
More than 44,000 new Covid-19 tests have been carried out, the ministry added.
The UAE tops world countries in per million Covid tests. With another two million tests in the next 60 days, which would mean an average of 33.33 tests daily, the country will touch a whopping six million tests by the end of August.
The country is planning to conduct over two million Covid-19 tests in the next two months. The tests will target workers in the services and government sectors, covering public transport and taxi drivers, workers in hotels and malls, as well as government employees.
A top official yesterday assured that while the daily number of cases has "slightly increased" in the last few days, the UAE's recovery rate remains above 78 per cent, compared with the global average of less than 57 per cent.
The ministry called on all residents to adhere to the UAE's #WeAreAllResponsible call and urged public to cooperate with the authorities in ensuring safety.
After a three-month break, Dubai has rolled out the red carpet for tourists starting today. On March 24, Dubai authorities closed the air space as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19. Tourists and visitors arriving in Dubai will get a special stamp on their passports that reads 'A warm welcome to your second home'.
Dubai Tourism has assured visitors that comprehensive safety measures have been put in place across the city to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
Dubai airlines have also resumed flights to select destinations. Emirates has resumed services to 51 destinations, while flydubai is now operating flights to 17 cities.
All tourists must take a PCR test within 96 hours prior to their flight and carry a negative Covid-19 test certificate when they travel. This applies to all passengers, including children.
