Coronavirus: Unable to fly home, couple in UAE sends son's body to India in cargo flight

He was 16. He left behind his siblings Johan and Julian.

An Indian couple in Dubai are inconsolable as they lost their teenage son to cancer - and because of travel restrictions, they didn't even have the chance to accompany his body as it was flown in a cargo plane to Kochi, India, on Wednesday.
Jomai and Jensil George's son, Jewel Jomai, succumbed to cancer at the American Hospital in Dubai last Friday.  Jewel had been battling the disease that struck his left leg since he was nine. After several treatment sessions and surgeries, he was able to get back to his normal life, though with the help of crutches and a wheelchair.
However, as fate would have it, his right leg was affected recently, causing him to lose his battle with cancer.
A Grade 10 student at Millennium School, Jewel was a friendly, good-natured boy, according to his teachers and friends.
Members of the St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Soonoro Patriarchal Cathedral, Jomai and Jensil were grateful that the reverend was able to conduct the last rites before the body was flown to India on Wednesday.
The body will be handed over to relatives at the Nedumbasseri airport from where it will be taken to Pathanamthitta, Jomai's hometown.
The funeral will be held at 9.30am on Thursday at the Konni Jacobite church in India.
