Dar Al Ber Society in Ras Al Khaimah spent Dh1,743,095 on 435 poor and low-income families in the first quarter of 2020.
Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, director of the RAK branch, said the donations and revenues of the endowment projects run by the society in the emirate reached Dh3,305,031 in the first three months of this year.
"The society paid Dh349,000 against the rents of 109 vulnerable families."
This was in addition to Dh483,000 spent on 135 students of disadvantaged families, he pointed out.
"These included Dh419,000 on 120 school students, and Dh64,000 on 15 university students."
Dar Al Ber also paid Dh224,075 for the treatment of 45 indigent patients, he stated.
"Up to Dh43,700 was paid for electricity bills of 15 destitute families here."
"Up to Dh81,500 was paid as general assistance to 27 vulnerable families in Ras Al Khaimah."
