Data entry jobs only for Emiratis: Tas'heel

Dubai - The decision comes as part of the ministry's efforts to support Emiratisation in the private sector.

Data entry operators at Tas'heel centres will be all Emiratis, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
Next time residents visit Tas'heel centres, they will be received by Emirati operators at the counters who will print forms and finish transactions that include issuance of new entry permits, work permits, and residency and work permit renewal services.
According to the circular issued on July 10, management of Tas'heel service centres will have to replace expatriate employees with Emiratis to ensure that the data entry operators are 100 per cent Emiratis.
From July 15, Emiratis have been exclusively assigned to handle transactions concerning ministries and other government entities.
The decision comes as part of the ministry's efforts to support Emiratisation in the private ?sector by providing more job opportunities for Emiratis in line ?with the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda.
Centres that do not abide by the new rules will be subject to fines. According to ministry officials, field inspection visits started since Sunday to ensure that the new rules are being followed.
5-day week for Emiratis
The circular states that each Emirati employee will be entitled to a two-day off in the week. Service centre administrations must distribute the scheduled days off among employees with a clear time frame to ensure proper rotation throughout the week from Saturday to Thursday.
According to the circular, user numbers that belong to expatriate employees will be deactivated, and a new logging system - based on activating ID readers and fingerprinting - will be introduced.
The UAE Cabinet had earlier approved fines for those found violating the provisions of the operational manual at Tas'heel service centres. The ministry urged all centres to abide by the rules to avoid being fined.
There are currently over 40 Tas'heel centres across the UAE to simplify all labour-related processes and improve efficiency.
Domestic services
Earlier in March, the ministry had announced that Tas'heel centres across the country would start accepting applications for recruiting domestic workers.
The move was aimed at implementing the second phase of transferring domestic workers' transactions to the MoHRE, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, following the application of the first phase in Dubai last year.
The MoHRE recently called on those interested in hiring domestic workers in Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah to visit Tas'heel centres to complete the application process.
Since Sunday, services related to employing domestic workers are being offered in the three Tas'heel centres in Ras Al Khaimah.
While these services were launched in Dubai last year, they were launched in Umm Al Quwain on May 21 this year; in Ajman on June 18; and in Fujairah on July 1.
According to the law, domestic workers include housemaids, cooks, security guards, drivers, gardeners and shepherds.
