Date-expired products destroyed in Fujairah

FUJAIRAH - The Public Health Division of Fujairah Municipality has destroyed 1,200 cartons of liquor bottles and 300 cartons of cigarettes which were found expired and unfit for use.

The division also seized 300kg of gum from a home occupied by workers.

The seizure operation was launched in conjunction with the Fujairah police under the supervision of Aselah Al Mualah, Director of the Public Service and Environment Department, as part of the joint coordination efforts between the government bodies and local departments. — Salah Al Deberky

Over the past month, the Public Health Division carried out several inspection visits to 1,523 food and 292 non-food outlets to understand how much these outlets are committed to the hygiene and health rules, in order to verify the validity of their licenses and to find out whether or not they meet the conditions set by the municipality.

The Inspection and Food Control Section made some 323 inspection tours which resulted in detecting 42 health related violations. As many as 53 warning notices have been issued for infringing the municipality’s health conditions.
