Finally, the event book lovers from across the country have been waiting for is here. The 34th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will open today.
Attracting more than one million visitors to the Expo Centre, the 10-day event, will be formally inaugurated at 10am and conclude on November 14. The book fair, under the patronage of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, will see the participation of several international publishers.
The guests include award-winning Emirati and international writers, including Booker Prize winner Ben Okri and popular Indian actor Mohanlal.
The ever-popular Indian pavilion will be inaugurated by T.P.Seetharam, the Ambassador of India to UAE, at 11.30am today.
And as in the previous years, the fair is open to the public to get enlightened, know and meet authors and attend discussions.
