The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) is set to roll out a Dh69-million project to boost power and water services in Ajman this year.

Mohammad Saleh, director-general of Fewa, said the infrastructure project includes the extension, replacement and development of a number of utility networks in the emirate.

This project aims to sustain resources, improve services, and raise the efficiency and reliability of the network in the region. “The project is scheduled to be completed in full during the first half of this year 2021,” Saleh said.

Last year, Fewa has completed 90 per cent of a Dh42-million project to replace the old water distribution lines in Ajman’s Al Nuaimiya area, he added.

Currently, the authority is working on a Dh23-million project to extend new transmission and distribution lines in Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed City and other areas. Scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2022, it aims to provide the future water needs of the city.
