The Armed Forces on Thursday launched a discount card for all Ministry of Defence(MoD) employees and members, including servicemen, civilians and retirees.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held on Thursday at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi which saw the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Armed Forces and a number of leading companies and institutions in the country.
The partnerships were signed by Major-General Staff Pilot Ishaq Saleh Mohammed Al-Balushi, Head of Supply Department of the General Command of the Armed Forces, and representatives from the companies.
Major-General Al-Balushi praised the continuous and substantial support given to the Armed Forces by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the follow-up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Major-General Al-Balushi said that cardholders will benefit from discounts for airlines, telecommunications, car insurance, car rental, hotels, universities, schools, sports clubs, and many other services.
