Children in the city have been enjoying a 30-minute, Disney-inspired fitness routine every day since the start of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC).
The DFC teamed up with the Walt Disney Company to create an exclusive 30-minute workout video that starred some of the world's most loved Disney royalty, Marvel heroes and Pixar icons. The video runs daily at four of the DFC's fitness villages, and it's also available on YouTube, encouraging kids to get their 30 minutes of fitness with a dash of Disney magic.
The exclusive '30x30 with Disney' video brings together Aladdin, Mulan, and Frozen and Monsters Inc. characters, along with the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Black Panther - in a fun, free and easy-to-follow workout. The routine allows the children to try various twists and turns as they create their own versions of their favourite characters' dance moves.
Specially designed for children and young people from five to 15, the series is structured in three parts with 10-minute segments each. The kids get to dance, skip and jump to the tune of some highly popular movie soundtracks, like Shakira's Try Everything from Zootopia; We Belong Together from Toy Story 3; and the theme of Marvel's The Avengers.
Each 10-minute workout is further divided into varied 60-second routines, making it easy for the youngsters to learn.
Schools across Dubai have also been using the 30x30 Disney video to get their students active and involved in the fitness month, thanks to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Ministry of Education.
By the end of the 30-minute exercise, kids get to feel a sense of achievement and understand that fitness can be both magical and fun, organisers said. The initiative forms part of Disney's commitment to using the power of storytelling to inspire families to lead healthier lifestyles.
The Disney workout is just one of the DFC's wide array of free activities and action-packed programmes that cater to everyone, from young adults, families of all ages, people of determination, residents and visitors, to government agencies, businesses, fitness professionals and academic institutions. With its second edition this year, the challenge aims to engage over one million participants across every community in Dubai.
