Dubai-based charity contributes Dh1m to vulnerable people across UAE

Dubai - The charity supports up to 600 low-income families with monthly cash allowances.

The Dubai-based charity, Beit Al Khair Society (Baks), has contributed Dh1 million to vulnerable people across the UAE.
Abdeen Taher Al Awadhi, general director of Baks and the UAE Ambassador for Social Responsibility, said the Dh1 million have been contributed to the social security fund of the Community Development Authority.
"The eligible beneficiaries targeted span indigent senior citizens, people of determination, inmate defaulters, widows, divorcees, and other vulnerable individuals in the country."
Few days ago, Baks also inked an agreement with a RAK hospitality holding company to support low-income people. "This MoU, kind of gateway for more efficient interaction with the RAK community, is to encourage donors, benefactors and visitors to support the projects targeting families in need."
Baks supports up to 600 low-income families with monthly cash allowances, according to Al Awadhi. "These are apart from over 3,500 cases that are annually supported with emergency reliefs."
