Dubai court: Man gets 10 years jail, deportation for smuggling drugs

The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian man to 10 years in prison, followed by deportation, for attempting to smuggle drugs.

According to Al Khaleej Arabic daily, the man was arrested in August, after authorities discovered that he was carrying 210 grams of drugs.

Investigations revealed that the man was trying to smuggle the drugs, and he confessed to the crime.

The police referred the case to the judicial authorities, and the criminal court handed him a 10-year prison sentence followed by deportation.
