Dubai Courts achieves 34% Emiratisation

Emiratisation remains steady within judicial categories at 34 per cent, according to the Dubai Courts annual report released on Monday.
Dubai Courts has launched on Monday its Annual Report 2015, reflecting a significant improvement in the performance of the three courts - First Instance, Appeal and Court of Cassation - and a remarkable progress in Dubai Government's unified customer complaints' portal, smart transformation, and Emiratisation.
It also achieved the targets of its Operational Plan 2015 which aimed to boost the trust in the judicial system regionally and globally.
The report revealed that the complaints' portal has achieved 95 per cent success rate when compared with Dubai Government's 75 per cent target for "solved complaints rate during 7 working days' index."
In Emiratisation, the report indicates an increase of 6 per cent in the number of qualified citizens employed in the courts during the last year.
The report also revealed achievements in smart transformation, where 1 million beneficiaries used e-gate and smart platforms to finalise their legal transactions.
The court's smart platform received 70,000 smart requests, while customers have registered 30,000 cases online since the beginning of the last year.
In terms of the three performance indexes for the three courts, the report points out that the rate for finalising the cases in Dubai Courts was 95 per cent for 2015, with an increase of 13 per cent in registered cases compared to 2014 and 8 per cent increase in judicial decisions. The labour court achieved judgment period of 48 days.
Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director of Dubai Courts, said that the last year's positive results were the outcome of the relentless efforts to attain excellence in the court's work by creating a strong legal environment and integrated judicial system.
Dubai Courts launched several initiatives such as 'Centre for Amicable Settlement of Disputes' which solve disputes within 30 minutes and others, thereby saving billions of dirhams.
The report also revealed that Dubai Courts' commitment to the use of smart applications has reduced personal follow up by 80 per cent.
It also confirms Dubai Courts' success to achieve 100 per cent smart transformation, following the efforts to accelerate the process of legal and judicial transactions using the most advanced technology innovations.
