Dubai Muncipality warns against using henna. Here's why

Dubai - The affected women have to bring the bill to the Municipality to take the necessary action with the beauty center.

Social media users circulated pictures showing the danger of the Chinese Henna as it has chemical substances that cause burns amputation.
In response, The Public Health and Safety Department at Dubai Municipality confirmed that this type of henna is banned in Dubai.
Through their social media, the civic body warned the public from using the mixed henna. Residents should first confirm the used substances before applying them to avoid serious health risks.
"Some beauty centers are mixing henna with harmful chemicals that are not in conformity to the standards, therefore they will bear the responsibility in case of injuries," the civic body said in a statement.
The affected women have to bring the bill to the Municipality to take the necessary action with the beauty center.
"When receiving any complaint about the beauty centers, DM inspectors visit the beauty center secretly, and request the black henna." The inspector then confiscates the product and issues fines up to Dh2,000. 
"If a Henna sample is busted by the inspector, it will be withdrawn from the beauty center and will be sent to Dubai Central Laboratory to ensure its safety on the skin, and that it is free of any dangerous and prohibited items," the civic body had said.
