Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said, “Green roofs are considered to be one of the environmentally-friendly solutions taken up by Dubai Municipality to face the project expansions.”
The municipality would soon issue a special booklet on ways to implement the concept so that it helped a larger number of residents to adopt it, Lootah said, and added that the municipality was keen on starting it on the roof of the municipality building.
He said Green Roofs project is an excellent concept in protection of environment and reduction of heat levels.
The municipality has chosen suitable plants for this project in addition to beautiful designs in coordination with the Public Parks and Horticulture Department, he added.
