The Dubai Police have stepped up security patrols and emergency response in Hatta, as more residents have been visiting the area with the winter weather setting in.
Col Mubarak Al Ketbi, director of Hatta Police Station, said they have increased the number of patrols near dams, assuring that they are ready to deal with any incident in flood-prone areas.
“Residents are advised to stay away from valleys and bodies of water when the weather is unstable,” he added.
Col Al Ketbi said they have deployed traffic patrols in these areas, instead of the regular patrol vehicles.
“Designed for rugged terrain, these patrols are equipped with the latest smart devices and modern technologies to communicate with the command and control centre. It also has all the equipment used in rescue,” he explained.
Al Ketbi urged the public to call 999 in case of emergencies.
The Hatta Police Station has been working with the Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Civil Defence, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to ensure public safety 24/7.
