The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is aiming to transport more than 80 million riders by the end of the year through its fleet comprising 4,512 cabs.
Through internal circulars and in-house training centres, the corporation is equipping drivers with skills to achieve this goal, said Abdullah Ibrahim Al Meer, director of business development of DTC.
The DTC has launched a campaign to promote its services and enhance its profile among taxi riders in shopping malls across the emirate. "The promotional programme is focused on marketing the DTC's services: Airport taxi, VIP taxi, special needs taxi, Hala taxi, ladies and families taxi, hybrid taxi, In Safe Hands taxi, Hatta taxi and the public taxi, in addition to the newly launched school transport service," said Al Meer.
"Shopping malls currently covered by the campaign include the Jumeirah Beach Centre, Arabian Centre and the Dubai World Trade Centre." The corporation is raising awareness among the public at these malls about the services it offers through brochures and social media campaigns.
"A number of services were well received by customers and visitors of shopping malls, especially the In-Safe Hands Taxi service, school transport service, Mashaweer service, and the VIP Taxi service," said Al Meer.
