Want to make a difference to the community? Here is the opportunity.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has launched a new app where people can commit a day to volunteer in Dubai.
"My message to everyone is to volunteer to join the dedicated teams that are working around-the-clock to protect our community. This is part of our social responsibility and our duty to help safeguard the welfare of society. Our aim is to ensure the highest levels of protection against the global pandemic we are facing and support the government's efforts to combat it. This is a great opportunity to show our unity and our love for our city," Sheikh Hamdan said.
The Day For Dubai app takes into consideration the difference made by one day of giving.
By signing up, residents can volunteer one day in a year and dedicate that day to support community initiatives to preserve the city and protect the environment.
Volunteering can be in any form, such as volunteering time, knowledge, skills and empathy.
Organisations can also list events and opportunities to volunteer and registered volunteers can participate in the registered activities as per scheduled day and venue.
