Dubai residents are gearing up to make the most of the last weekend before the holy month of Ramadan starts. And the Dubai Tourism made it more exciting by offering the three-day Super Sale - that begins today - and will see over 250 brands offering shoppers 30-90 per cent off on an array of merchandise such as bags, shoes, cosmetics, perfumes, fashion accessories and home furniture.
Momina has been postponing her visit to see her friend who has just delivered a set of twins. Reason: "I want to get really nice gifts for the babies and since I heard the mega sale was happening this weekend, I thought why not wait and make the most of the discounts. I can probably buy better gifts in the same amount that I would spent on their gifts without sale. So why not avail of it."
The new citywide retail initiative will see over 1,000 retail outlets offer mega savings for shoppers with heavy discounts on a diverse range of items from local, regional and global brands, at significantly low prices.
Misbah, 22, has plans of heading straight to the mall after her classes today. "From the day I learnt about the sale in the newspapers and social media, I started making a list of things I need. Also, since it will be tough to shop in Ramadan, I will make the most of this three-day Super Sale and buy Eid gifts for family and friends now itself," she told Khaleej Times.
Asked whether she would go all the three days to shop, Misbah said: "I will go till I am able to buy all items on my list. Also, since there will be no more clearance sales until December, I am going to make good use of it."
The retail promotion running across Dubai offers an extensive range of choices for shoppers preparing for their summer holidays, followed by the Eid holiday period, and is part of efforts to further enhance Dubai's position as a year-round shopping destination.
Extended mall hours?
Asked about any extended opening hours of stores, Apparel Group spokesperson told Khaleej Times: "We will definitely have extended hours for these three days as the Super Sale dates have coincided with the weekend, and Malls in Dubai usually have extended hours over the weekend.
"Our discount range is from 30 to 70 per cent off, of which some brands are offering the promotion on everything and some are offering the promotion on select styles/part sale.
"Most of our brands in Dubai are part of the Super Sale and are offering customers some really exciting discounts. The timing is perfect; coming early in the summer and just a few days before the holy month of Ramadan begins, followed by Eid holidays," Apparel Group spokesperson added.
Apparel group brands that are part of the three-day Super Sale in Dubai are Aldo, Aldo Accessories, Aeropostale, New Balance, Garage, Athlete's Co., TOMS, Birkenstock, Thee Walking Company, Charles & Keith, Call it Spring, Z Generation, Kidiliz, Adams Kids, Moreschi, Dune, Pedro, Charming Charlie, Naturalizer, Anne Klein, Nine West, Austin Reed, La Vie En Rose, UGG, Inglot, Bottega Verde, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Beverley Hills Polo Club, Rituals, Juicy Couture, Cath Kidston, Levis, All About Watches and Ardene.
