Visitors to the Burj Khalifa will now have an even better view of Dubai to marvel at with the introduction of a glittering new spiral flight connecting levels 124 and 125 of the iconic building.
Level 124 is home to At the Top, the observation deck that opened in 2010, and level 125 is part of the At the Top SKY journey that takes visitors to the observation deck - the world's highest - on the 148th floor.
Now, visitors who opt to go to At the Top can now also get a glimpse of Dubai from level 125 with the new spiral staircase.
Premium ticket holders to At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY, will now be able to visit all three levels (124, 125 and 148), all the way to 555 metres.
The 36-step, white oak spiral flight spans a length of 100 metres and is adorned with a crystal LED chandelier, which is enclosed in a glass facade that opens to views of Dubai.
After enjoying the scenery from level 124, visitors can now explore one level higher, which serves as a tribute to Arab arts and culture and is slickly designed to feature a Masharabiya motif.
The spiral flight was built with no disruptions to existing services, and work was undertaken in 24-hour shifts in 1,200 man hours, after being conceptualised by deploying 3D modelling techniques. The spiral flight is built with 60 metric tonnes of steel, 700 square metres of glass, and 350sqm of stainless steel cladding and can accommodate 150 people at the time.
