A part of Dubai's arterial Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed on Friday, November 8, for the Dubai Run 30x30. It is for the first time ever that the arterial road turn into a running track.
With the aim of fostering a healthy community spirit, the free-to-attend event includes a 5km fun run and a 10km run, with both routes starting and ending at Dubai World Trade Centre.
This marks the first time that people have been allowed to run on a section of the 14-lane highway, giving participants a unique, on-foot perspective of iconic sights as they come together to demonstrate their commitment to an active lifestyle and DFC's vision to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
"The run will begin at #Dubai World Trade Centre, and part of Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed on the morning of November 8, when the run is taking place," the Dubai Media Office said.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on Tuesday evening shared a post on Twitter, urging Dubai residents to participate in the Dubai Run 30x30 taking place this Friday.
"DUBAI RUN 30X30. ON SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD. FRI 8 NOV 2019. 6AM CHECK-IN. @DXBFitChallenge," the Crown Prince tweeted.
The run will begin at #Dubai World Trade Centre, and part of Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed on the morning of 8 November, when the run is taking place. Registration on Platinumlist is essential prior to the event for all attendees 8 and over https://t.co/OJqgRP9yU7
