After introducing first of its kind bicycle patrolling service, the Dubai Police introduced dune buggies to assist tourists on beach locations. The police patrol on beach buggy will even take care of the belongings of visitors.
The head of the tourist police, Lt. Col. Mubarak Benawas, said the 4WD vehicle introduced by the general department of tourism police at the Dubai Police, will contribute to creating a safe environment on the beaches, enhancing the security of tourists.
Lieutenant Ahmad Al Muhairi, acting head of the department of travel programmes, said that the 4WD patrol vehicle is equipped with a first-aid kit, two additional chairs next to the driver and a large box to transport the belongings of tourists. He added that the policemen on beach buggy will help tourists on the beaches which will contribute to the cultural image of Dubai.
The Dubai Police's general department of search and rescue has launched the cycling patrol service last month to respond to emergency situations in coastal and other remote areas. Those pedalling patrols were equipped first-aid kits and various means of communication.
