They say that happiness doesn't come from what we get, but from what we give. But one coffee shop is promising its customers a double shot of happiness by simply dropping by for a snack.
Dunkin' Donuts has launched a charity campaign 'DD Donate', wherein it will donate Dh1 for every purchase transaction made at any of its 72 branches across the UAE. This is to raise funds for centres dealing with special needs and humanitarian causes in the country.
The campaign was launched in collaboration with TV superstar and Syrian actress Suzan Najm Aldeen, whose memorable roles have earned her wide acclaim across the Arab world.
The donation will be equally distributed to three centres in particular - Rashid Centre For Disabled in Dubai, Zayed Higher Organisation in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah City For Humanitarian services in Sharjah.
Aldeen, in her role as the face of the DD Donate campaign, and general media ambassador of love and peace, will actively endorse the campaign that will run untillJanuary 15, 2017, and support fundraising efforts.
"The DD Donate Campaign is designed to encourage our fans and customers in support of our pledge to donate to charitable causes. We want to raise funds for charity and humanitarian partners who have a track record of helping improve lives and supporting those in need," said Marwan Salha, CEO of Continental Food Establishment, the sole franchisee of Dunkin Donuts.
"DD Donate carries the message of caring, hope and inclusion. I am delighted to be associated with a campaign that wants to help those in need. It's exciting to see famous brands like Dunkin' Donuts get involved with the community through charitable initiatives," said Suzan Najm Aldeen.
The campaign's conclusion will see Suzan Najm Aldeen and Dunkin' Donuts representatives hand over donation cheques to partner organisations at a special ceremony.
