Economy, education to feature at govt summit

As per the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the fifth World Government Summit will be held from February 12 to 14, 2017.
The summit will expand its agenda and session topics to include economy and finance as well as health, education and government services. It will also discuss a number of themes directly related to the lives of people and various segments of society all over the world.
Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and vice-chairperson of the organising committee of the World Government Summit, stated that the directives of Shaikh Mohammed emphasises the importance of bringing in a set of qualitative changes to the agenda.
She noted that the next summit will see a number of positive changes, including opening up the summit for participation from companies and organisations. Nominated representatives of companies and organisations will be able to participate in the sessions that discuss topics of relevance in key sectors such as education, health, government services and future of science, innovation. The summit is focused on launching global reports and indices as well as establishing a new partnership with the International Monetary Fund.
