UAE students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum have recorded a stellar performance in the Grade 12 board exams as results were announced early on Friday.
Among the GEMS schools, science stream student Ishika Khandelwal from Our Own Indian School was the overall topper with a score of 98.6 per cent.
"We are thrilled to congratulate all of our students on their remarkable CBSE results this year,” said Dr Saima Rana, chief education officer of the group. “This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students, as well as the unwavering support of parents. We are so proud to see our students excel and wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
This year, a total of 87.33 per cent of students who appeared for the board exams passed.
GEMS Our Own English High School – Dubai (OOD), one of the oldest CBSE schools in the country, recorded a school average of 85.2 per cent, with a pass percentage of 100 and no compartments.
“Our students have done us proud once again,” said Thomas Mathew, executive principal of the school. “The CBSE results of 2022-23 are a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our students and teachers, as well as the unstinted support offered by their families. We congratulate our students for their incredible feat.”
The school topper and topper in the science stream was Pranamya Prasanna Belvai who scored 98.4 per cent. In the commerce stream, it was Neha Maria Denny who scored 97.6 per cent, while the humanities topper was Insiya with 97.8 per cent.
The Indian High School, Oud Metha campus recorded yet another outstanding performance with a 100 per cent pass rate and an increased percentage of students scoring A1 and A2 aggregates.
“The accuracy and consistency with which our teachers identify, track, support and challenge all our students – especially in the run-up to the board exam – is truly remarkable,” said Punit MK Vasu, CEO of The Indian High Group of Schools. “The one-on-one coaching that follows is testimony to their diligence and commitment. Anna Joy topped the science stream with 98.4 per cent while Disha Prakash scored 97.2 per cent to top the commerce stream. The humanities topper was Riya Gupta, who scored 96.6 per cent.
At the Delhi Private School, Dubai, Anish Mangla got the highest score with 98.4 per cent. The commerce stream topper Sarisha Agrawal scored 97.4 per cent, while Aashna Sharma topped humanities with 95.8 per cent.
Rashmi Nandkeolyar, principal and director of DPS Dubai, said they are delighted with the results. “All students have comfortably secured a first division and there is not a single failure or compartment in any subject, with the class average being 88.4 percent, which is a testament to the hard work put in by our students and the dedication of teachers, not forgetting the support of parents."
GEMS United Indian School recorded a school average of 79 per cent with a pass percentage of 100. The school topper was Rishi Kumar who scored 96.8 per cent in the science stream.
“This commendable performance of our learners is the result of our efforts in providing rich educational opportunities and cognitive skill training, our partnership with parents, our teachers’ relentless and dedicated approach in supporting learners, and, above all, our learners’ sustained effort in targeting achievements,” said K. George Mathew, principal and CEO of the school.
At GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Boys, Aditya Sunil Menon topped science stream with 97.2 per cent. The school recorded an average of 79.83 per cent, with a pass percentage of 100.
At the Emirates National School, Sharjah, which presented 128 students for the CBSE Grade 12 Examination, 83 scored more than 75 per cent. Raisa Jose topped the science stream with a score of 96.2 per cent. Asha Saravanakumar topped the commerce stream with 96.8 per cent.
Fidha Thiruthikkatt Pilakkal Rasheed became the school topper of New Indian Model School Dubai in the science stream with 96.6 per cent, while Khadija Husein Sheth topped the commerce stream with 95.2 per cent.
At the Sharjah Indian School, the school topper was Lakshmi Pradeep who got 97.8 per cent in the commerce stream. Anitha Jacob topped the science stream with 94.8 per cent.
At DPS Sharjah, the school's topper was Vishesh Gupta of the science stream with 97.4 per cent. Saadiyah Asif is the commerce topper with 97 per cent and Sanjana is the humanities topper with 92 per cent.
At Al Ameer English School Ajman, Jaishnavy Dev Sajeev was the school and commerce stream topper with 94.2 per cent while Safana Jasin Pilakkal topped the science stream with 93 per cent.
The Indian Public High School, Ras Al Khaimah recorded a 100 per cent pass rate with Lizbeth Jito Varghese emerging as the high scorer in the science stream with 95 per cent. Mohammed Alaa Sayed topped the commerce stream with 96.2 per cent.
At the Indian School RAK, Aniqa Anjum got the top honours in the science stream scoring 96.33 per cent, while Eisha Hanif scored the highest in commerce stream with 92.33 per cent. “Our students have once again proved that there is no substitute for hard work,” said school principal Abdullah Kutty.
