The Embassy of India in the UAE is getting ready for the UAE launch of 'Coming Home to eARTh: Space. Line. Form', a book co-authored by A.V. Ilango and Srivi Kalyan, two of India's revered names in the field of arts and art education.
To be held at 4:00 pm on October 13, 2015 (Tuesday) at the Embassy Auditorium, Diplomatic Area, Abu Dhabi, the event will also feature an exhibition of the selected works of Mr. Ilango.
His Excellency Mr. T.P. Seetharam, the Ambassador of India to the UAE, said: "I am familiar with A.V.Ilango the artist and his wonderful artwork for more than ten years. I have been fascinated by the manner in which he is able to capture not just form but movement so vividly through his lines and strokes.

About the author
A mathematician turned self-taught artist who has, since his debut in 1973 into the field of the arts, evolved into a greatly respected name in the Indian art scene.
Mr. Ilango is also the founder of Ilango's Art Space in Chennai where he has been nurturing creativity since October 2004. The Space educates children and adults in the process of drawing and painting to express themselves in an informal and personalised ambience, in the age-old 'guru-sishya' pedagogy.
This book serves to share his talent and skills to all art lovers and practitioners across the world. I wish to compliment  A.V. Ilango and Srivi Kalyan for having brought out a book that inspires and educate all of us and generations to come."
According to Ilango, "Art lets you be in the now." His students come from both India and abroad.
Srivi Kalyan is an artist, teacher, writer and activist who founded Fooniferse Arts, a hub for people from diverse fields to use arts as a way to collaborate, redefine and act on innovative solutions for some of the social and ecological issues the of our times.
The book 'Coming Home to eARTh: Space. Line. Form' looks at art as more than a form of creative expression and communication, rather exploring it in the traditional Eastern philosophy of being a mode of transcendental experience. In her preface for the book,
The Embassy of India in the UAE has been supporting arts and artists for the past two years through initiatives such as 'Art at India House' where the Ambassadors open their residence to hold exhibitions of the works of both established artists as well as those who are trying to make their mark in the global art scene.
