A fire broke out on a small vacant lot in Business Bay, adjacent to The Vogue, a Damac property, eyewitness said on Thursday morning.
Black fumes billowed from the ground but the blaze erupted away from the building, according to a resident who confirmed the fire to Khaleej Times.
The fire started at around 9.45am, according to an eyewitness. The flow of traffic was not affected as the incident did not happen near the main road.

Authorities immediately responded to the incident, putting out the fire after about 15 minutes, the eyewitness said. The cause of the incident was not yet known.
Damac confirmed the incident, stressing that their building remained unaffected, "and all our residents and tenants are thankfully and completely safe", a senior official from the real estate developer told Khaleej Times.
“Damac worked swiftly and closely with the security teams on ground to contain the fire and to ensure it does not reach and enter the building premises,” the official added.
“The situation was successfully managed while Dubai Civil Defence arrived promptly on the scene and completely extinguished the fire.”
