Emirates Airline has signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany's Federal Police service Bundespolizei to enhance the effectiveness of travel document screening procedures on flights from Dubai to Germany.
Under the agreement, document checks at Dubai International Airport for passengers flying to Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich or Frankfurt will be handled by Emirates personnel who have received extensive training about Germany's immigration procedures.
Additionally, the agreement adds a second document screening check at the gate just before boarding for departure.
The memorandum, the first of its kind between Germany's Federal Police and any airline, is designed to reduce the chances of passengers travelling to Germany without any documentation, and reduce the time Emirates passengers must spend going through German immigration procedures once they've arrived.
According to Emirates, the procedures are already in effect for all of the airline's flights to Germany.
