This week, Emirates Airline celebrated its 32nd birthday, and what a 32 years it has been. From its three leased aircraft fleet in 1985 to the youngest and most advanced fleet of 2017, Emirates is the blue-eyed boy of the aviation sector.
In the year after its inaugural flight from Dubai to Karachi, the airline had 200 employees, flying 262,000 passengers to seven destinations: Karachi, New Delhi, Bombay, Amman, Colombo, Cairo and Dhaka.
But today, with more than three decades of operation under its belt, Emirates' humble beginnings has since seen it journey from a story of hope to one of success.
Never one to stick to the mould, the rise of Dubai's flagship airline has helped reshape the global aviation industry and has brought the world to Dubai. Here, we take a look back at some of the airline's standout moments.
