The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADCM) has carried out 1,484 inspections in the construction sector since the start of the year to assess environmental, health & safety (EHS) standards of the workers on site.
These campaigns were carried out to provide safe working environment and showcase health and safety standards of the workers in line with the global specifications.
The municipality urged the entities in the construction sector to comply with the EHS standards and minimise potential risks that might put the workers' lives at risk.
The municipality also reminded contractors and consultants on the importance of providing precautionary measures when using high scaffolding.
Meanwhile, the EHS Office of the municipality held 39 workshops and gatherings with consultants and contractors.
Next month will see events like the health awareness programme on spine-health, educative workshop about civil defense, and the launch of the pink caravan in cooperation with the Health Authority- Abu Dhabi, and the Water & Electricity Conference and Exhibition.
Programmes were also charted for November and December. While an EHS induction programme and a workshop will be held in November, in December, the municipality will take part in Wetex Exhibition to be held in Dubai.
