A slowdown in mobile and internet services in some parts of Dubai and Sharjah was experienced for a couple of hours on Friday due to what Etisalat called technical glitch in their network.
"Earlier on Friday there was a slowdown in the network which affected certain areas," according to a statement from Etisalat sent to Khaleej Times.
"This has been completely restored in record time and all services are back to normal," Etisalat added.
Etisalat apologised to its customers for any inconvenience caused due to the service disruption.
"Etisalat values its customers as one of the most important pillars of its continued growth and constantly aiming to provide the highest quality of services. Etisalat will provide suitable benefits for the impacted customers," according to the statement from Etisalat.
Some residents had taken to social media to call the attention of Etisalat. One Twitter user (@mehboobaslam786) said:?"@etisalat, still the network is not coming only my phones signal coming those are also weak and elife still not working. Another Twitter handle (@mehboobaslam) posted: @ etisalat what happened? no signal, come on!"
